DGCA Computer Number required documents

Documents Required for DGCA Computer Number

October 23, 2026•2 min read

Before applying for a DGCA Computer Number, aspiring pilots should prepare their educational documents, photograph, signature and applicable supporting certificates.

Step 1: Prepare Your Educational Certificates

For CPL applicants, keep these documents ready:

  • Class 10 marksheet and pass certificate

  • Class 12 marksheet and pass certificate with Physics and Mathematics

  • Board Verification Certificate (BVC), where required

  • Equivalence certificate, if applicable

Your name should match your Class 10 certificate. If your name has changed, supporting documents prescribed by DGCA are required.

Step 2: Prepare Your Photograph

The DGCA specifies:

  • Size: 45 mm height × 35 mm width

  • Plain white background without borders

  • Face height: approximately 35 mm

  • Face width: approximately 25 mm

  • Face should occupy around 70% of the photograph

  • JPG/JPEG format

  • Maximum file size: 20 KB

Avoid selfies, side-facing photographs, sunglasses and incomplete or unclear images.

Step 3: Prepare Your Signature

  • Size: 20 mm height × 45 mm width

  • White background without borders, Black Pen

  • JPG/JPEG format

  • Maximum file size: 20 KB

The signature must be clear and complete.

Step 4: Prepare Your Address Proof

DGCA accepts self-attested copies of:

  • UIDAI downloaded full Aadhaar card with the latest photograph

  • Valid passport

  • Voter ID

  • Any Address proof issued by the State or Central Government

Self-attestation means that the candidate signs the copy of the document to authenticate it.

The manual specifically requires self-attested with black ink signature address-proof copies. It does not state that every educational certificate must be self-attested.

Step 5: Check Whether You Need a BVC

A Board Verification Certificate confirms the authenticity of educational qualifications.

BVC exemption: If your Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets including Physics and Mathematics are successfully fetched through DigiLocker, then a BVC is not required.

Manual applications: A BVC is required for Class 10 and Class 12, including Physics and Mathematics, unless a specific exemption applies.

For manual submission, the BVC must be addressed to the CEO, DGCA, or may be addressed to the Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) as specified in the manual.

Step 6: Check Document File Sizes
